Why a doctor called as super speciality and how much time to be taken for achieve this?

A doctor is considered a super specialist when they have completed advanced training and have expertise in a highly specialized area of medicine. Here's a breakdown of the typical pathway to becoming a super specialist:

Neet UG Competitive exam preparation :- 1 - 2 years

Basic Qualifications

1. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) : 5.5 years

2. Internship : 1 year

Neet PG competitive exam preparation:- 1- 2 years

Postgraduate Studies

1. MD/MS (Doctor of Medicine/Master of Surgery) : 3 years

- Specialize in a particular field, such as cardiology, neurology, or oncology.

2. DNB (Diplomate of National Board) : 3-4 years

- Equivalent to an MD/MS, but with a focus on practical training.

Super Specialization

1. DM/MCh (Doctorate of Medicine/Master of Chirurgie) : 3-4 years

- Advanced training in a highly specialized area, such as:

- Cardiology

- Neurology

- Oncology

- Pediatric surgery

- Neurosurgery

2. Fellowship programs : 1-3 years

- Additional training in a specific area, such as:

- Interventional cardiology

- Neurointerventional surgery

- Pediatric oncology

Total Time Required

Assuming a student completes their MBBS, MD/MS, and DM/MCh, the total time required to become a super specialist would be:

15-18 years (MBBS: 5.5 years + MD/MS: 3 years + DM/MCh: 3-4 years + Fellowship: 1-3 years)
